Tom Atkins, who also starred in John Carpenter's The Fog, uncovers a new kind of Halloween horror in the successful series from producers-composer Carpenter. Dr Daniel (Challis (Atkins) and Ellie Grimbridge (Stacey Nealkin) stumble onto a series of gruesome murders when her father, who sells Halloween novelties, is killed by an emotionless android assassin. An Oscar nominee for The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe, Dan O-Herlihy is Conal Cochran, a demented toymaker who wants to return the holiday to its dark roots using his Silver Shamrock masks. His unspeakable scheme will unleash death and destruction across the country, unless Challis can stop him in time, in this nightmarish thriller from Tommy Lee Wallace, the director of Stephen King's It.

SEASON OF THE WITCH !

With Michael dead, the Halloween movies were planned to be released every year, but with new and different stories. This one comes off as a extended episode of the Twilight Zone. all about these masks that will kill all the kids on Halloween night by a broadcast TV signal. This film severly lack the shocks that Michael could turn out, and with no iconic music score, the film was dead in the water. The only thing the film could muster up in the music department was the catchy jingle of the tv advertisment. with no shocks, no blood, and a very silly story how could it stand a chance? The film bombed at the cinema, and we had to wait six years for Michael to return to our screens. Not A terrible film, but no classic !

Halloween 3 is quiet strange in that it has nothing to do with any of the other films in the Halloween series (There are so far 8 films with another one on the way). This might have been better just named Season Of The Witch. I used to really dislike this film when I was younger as there was no Michael Myers which was such a shock as this was a Halloween film. But as the years have gone by I have really began to appreciate how good a horror film this really is.
A Halloween costume salesman turns up at hospital acting delirious and clutching a Pumpkin mask and is promptly murdered in his bed by an unknown assailant. His daughter decides to investigate why and teams up with a Doctor working at the hospital to try to find out who killed her father. There investigation takes them to the Silver Shamrock Toy factory where they find that the demented Conal Cochran and his droids are hatching a plan to murder thousands of children on Halloween night. Can they put a stop to this?
Halloween 3 has a creepy atmosphere throughout mainly due to the music and Cochran's emotionless droids which have immense strength and the ability to kill people without caring. The Silver Shamrock advert that plays throughout is very catchy and I could really imagine this turning up on telly on Halloween with kids loving it. This is a really chilling and often overlooked film that I would recommend to anyone wanting a shivery Halloween night.
