Scream now while you can still breathe!
The Blob has returned in this horrific tale about a vile, malignant life-form that crashes to earth in a cozy, rural American town called Arborville. Untroubled by conscience or intellect, the Blob does only one thing - and it does it well. It eats anything and everything that moves: men, women, children. And tonight it wants to swallow Arborville whole. The original version of The Blob thrilled and terrified audiences back in the 1950s. Now the oozing, gooey killer is back with a whole new high-tech look. What was once only suggested now comes to life in this visually gut-wrenching thriller in the tradition of such classic remakes as The Thing and The Fly.

Try releasing the version for the UK market, because us Brits might like it & give it more of a rating, or is this asking for too much?

Absolutely one of the best remakes ever made and one of the best 80's sci-fi films ever made. This is a one of a kind rare gem of a film you must own on DVD great story, loads of fantastic oldskool gore effects and a great cast including the very sexy young Shawnee Smith from the Saw movies, there is even a cameo from Bill Moseley and Erika Eleniak.

This in an awesome re-make of the classic horror film starring Steve McQueen. This is another of the films I watched years ago when my dad finally invested in a VCR and I remember loving it, so when I had the chance of buying it on DVD I snapped it up!! As it is not available in Britain I had to choose between region 1 or a European release on region 2 but with dutch writing on the cover! I went with the latter choice and was glad I did! This film is still brilliant with excellent effects and some quite gory scenes. The hospital attack is a classic and also the cinema, blocked sink and the telephone box scenes take some beating! The whole film moves along very well and also includes some classic humour moments, like the "Ribbed" joke when a father meets his daughters date and remembers him buying condoms at the local store! I laughed out loud at this as the picture on his face is a classic! I fully recommend this for any horror addicts collection as the only reason I didn't award 5 stars is because of the fact that the old style effects look slightly tired against the new CGI efforts, but this is to be expected for a film 20 years old. I await a sequel!!

FEAR HAS NO SHAPE!

This is a great and sadly forgotten 1988 remake of the old 50's "B" movie. The remake although now over twenty years old is great fun, with slick direction from Chuck Russell. The lead characters are good, with a young Kevin Dillon replacing Steve Mc Queen as the bad guy turned good. The film also has a good sense of humour, and knows how silly it's "B" movie origins are. The special effects stand up pretty well, although this was filmed before the days of CGI. Only the back projected effects and stop motion animation looks a little outdated. But the make-up effects are still amazing, especially when The Blob starts to digest and melt it's victims. This is used to stunning effect with the Hospital attack, and the brilliant strobe light cinema scene. With the never ending batch of remakes in the past few years, this movie out does most. It's a great shame this movie bombed at the box-office, and with limited TV showing and no Uk DVD release as of yet. this truly great shocker, seems to be lost. If you are a fan of John Carpenter's The Thing, the 1986 remake of The Fly and Tremors, you should really enjoy this.
This is a real forgotten gem and deserves to get the cult following it really deserves.
Brilliant, silly gloopy entertainment.
