having have heard it the first time around back in 1997, i think it was about time they re-issued the album out again,as the first i bought myself a copy it was on tape,as it was to listern to on my walkman, and chicane have produced excellent tunes over the past decade, and i particually like the track called-" lost you somwhere",and also the last track called-"offshore 2007" wich still provides the vocals by powercircle,as they did the vocals on offshore'97 as well, and the 2007 version of offshore is quite avazing and the mix is out of this world and i still like the 97 version as well, and there are also some cool ambient tracks on the album wich are quite excellent,as i had a listern to this cd that i borrowed from my local librarie and the tracks on it are mind blowing and its a cd thats worth getting if you like your trance-ambient music,as its one hell of a cd to add to your collection.

Forget Somersault, this is Top Class Chill-out!

I'm a massive Chicane fan, this is his first proper album before "After The Sun" and "Somersault" however this is easily the best of the three. Each track is completly different to the last.
It's also non-cheesey at all (Somersault - i'm looking at you) and got catchier tracks than "After the Sun" which is still a very good album.
This has been re-released due to popular demand, if you love chill-out/ambient music with a tad of dance/trance thrown it - this is the perfect album for you.

Back to Basics

Like a fine wine, vintage means flavour, experience and most of all quality... Chicane and 'Far From The Maddening Crowds' is no different! Little over a decade ago, Chicane crash landed in to the lives of millions with the unmistakable sounds of 'Offshore'97' and 'Sunstroke'. Sounds that would dominate the music industry for years to come. Nick Bracegirdle was different, a breath of fresh air, not just some flash in the pan DJ (to which Nick isnt) with some highly charged club anthem whose CD would do the rounds for a weekend or 2. Chicane was the new face of dance, and Offshore was here to stay for a long, long time.
2007 saw the release of Chicane's long anticipated third album 'Somersault' which saw the electric Chicane sound take a new exciting direction. And as if fans haven't even had time to savour the flavour of 'Nothing' and 'Turning Corners' Along comes a re-release of the much sought after album FFTMC, remastered and fullly loaded with a new version of Offshore! Whether your a fan new or old or just looking for something different, this album will take some of you back where as others, show you something completely new. There is something on this album for everybody and in my opinion, no CD or music collection will ever be complete without it...
