This movies was awesome, simply awesome!
It has a kick ass beginning, and the awesomeness just continues throughout the movie.
It is not the average "you know who's gonna live and who's not"-film.
It has nice twists and a great soundtrack.
Of course you have to be into blood, gore and destruction... but really, who doesn't like that?!

People have said that the picture on bluray is not so good. On my tv it looked amazing one of the best iv seen. Its a lot more action than the first film, there are some very gory parts. I would recomend this film to buy on bluray.

Very Different From The First
Posted by Play.com Reviewer, 12/08/2008 16:11:17
28 Weeks Later is a fantastic film. The film is set 28 weeks after the infection hit and the Americans are repopulating Britain. This film is bigger than the first one doubt about it. Definitely better visually, and the scenes of empty London are brilliant and really creepy. This film really shows the more gritty side that we didn't see in 28 days later. The infected are also a lot more scary in this one, they seem smarter than what they were made out to be in the first. The film also has a kick ass soundtrack mainly responsible to Muse, who are brilliant.
The film had a great opening and is my favourite part of the film.
Robert Carlyle is great, he really shines in the beginning film and plays his character great. He also played the infected character well. Rose Bryan was good but wasn't great, but you can't really flaw her on anything. Imogen Poots (Tammy) was great and played her part brilliantly. She really suited the role. Mackintosh Muggleton (Andy) was terrible. Sorry but i thought his voice was annoying and the acting sometimes distracted you from the story because of how bad he was. Classic example of an average child actor who is in a role too big for him.
The standout performance though was Catherine McCormack who is fantastic in this. And you really feel for her character. It was great to see her in another big screen film after Braveheart, (which was quite a while ago). All the other acting was great too and couldn't be flawed.
The film altogether is very different from the first one, a lot more violent and gritty, and feels like a bigger budgeted film. The scenes of London bring the film together well and the whole atmosphere of the film is great and very creepy. It's a very different take on zombie movies. I'd recommend this film to you, if you liked the first one or just enjoy good horrors or thrillers.

Honest Review on Blu Ray
Posted by Play.com Reviewer, 16/06/2008 10:43:56
I have to say that this is not a andmark release to show of the full capacity of Blu Ray. When the film was produced, it used a different type of camera to film so this would explain it. so i would give the picture 3/5 for blu ray. However, this has to be one of the best sounding Blu ray movies i have heard. if you have surround sound you will be freaked out at the realism and will feel like you have the effected breathing on your shoulder.
So if you are a die hard fan of the movie i would recommend, but i just expect to get the ''WOW'' factor from the picture... the sound makes up for this in my opinion

A Must see
Posted by Play.com Reviewer, 27/05/2008 00:43:47
First of all, OldEngland u have no idea what the hell your talkin about, the first one was brilliant and this one is even better. I was gripped from the first scene, i find it really anoying when people like you write crap like that so others judge the film before they even see it. Pffftttt
A must see, nothing better than seeing America fail and make things even worse like they usually do. peace

28 Weeks Later

If your a fan of 28 days later then this film is a must as it is just as good as the first and follows the story of america trying to clean up after the rage virus by setting up a livable area which is set in the Isle Of Dogs in London but takes a turn for the worst

28 Weeks Later - dullsville cash in follow-up
Posted by Play.com Reviewer, 08/03/2008 23:52:34
What more can I say than this is just what you come to expect in a follow-up? There's a poor storyline, it's boring, it's a franchise cash-in, in fact.
As if that isn't bad enough, the frequent use of a hand-held, shaky camera sorely irritates and tests the patience, whilst the use of the green-blue hued colour for external shots is little more pleasing on the eye.
Avoid this one at all costs, especially that of a blu-ray or HD disc unless you like to have suffering imposed on you or want to waste an hour and a half of your life being bored out of your skull. Yes it really is that bad. It isn't even worth adding to your collection at the fiver it sells for now in the normal format.

Good Film, Not so good picture quality.
Posted by Play.com Reviewer, 03/02/2008 14:50:03
This was a good sequel to the first film. Very exciting and made you jump. Really does make you think what it would be like if that were to happen in real life. Although the picture quality of the blu-ray was not so good. Not one to show off to friends!

28 Weeks Later (Bluray)
Posted by Play.com Reviewer, 05/11/2007 13:18:38
I'm not going to review the film but the disc is very good. A commentary track, some making of extras and a couple of other bits. I wouldn't say Bluray demo material for the picture quality but the sound is excellent. As another reviewer said, if you crank up the surround sound, then you'll be looking over your shoulder for the infected!
