8 Strangers, 8 Points of view... 1 Truth
Thomas Barnes (Dennis Quaid) and Kent Taylor (Matthew Fox) are two Secret Service agents assigned to protect President Ashton (William Hurt) at a landmark summit on the global war on terror. When President Ashton is shot moments after his arrival in Spain, chaos ensues and disparate lives collide. In the crowd is Howard Lewis (Forest Whitaker), an American tourist videotaping the historic event to show his kids when he returns home. Also there is Rex (Sigourney Weaver), an American TV news producer who is reporting on the conference. It's only as we follow each person's perspective of the same 15 minutes prior to and immediately after the shooting that the terrifying truth behind the assassination attempt is revealed.

Enjoyable, and well made but a little to tidy towards the end tho. Same thing from diffrent points of view was annoying initially, but u get use to it. Well acted by Dennis Quaid. Car Chase's with all those people on the pavement, looked well scary. Worth a watch.

This is such a great film. I love the way you watch the same story told by a different viewpoint. With each viewpoint you learn a bit more about each character. With the final 20 mins of the film being played out in real time it brings all the pieces of the jigsaw together very nicely. Watch it. It's not a long film, however still great.

Entertaining, smart and stylish

Despite what you may think, this movie does not feel repetative as what you see on each rewind is a different persons story and is so far unseen. That is not to say though that the storylines do not intertwine. They actually integrate with each other very intuitively and during one persons story you will see in the background the other charachters performing theirs.
The slow start is pretty slick at introducing the concept but before long the movie speeds up and there are twists and new plot details at every corner. There is also a lot of action towards the conclusion.
What the movie is really about however, Is humans tendency to judge a situation prematurely and assume something based on their limited information.
The transfer to blu-ray here is fantastic, The colors of the hot plaza and the vibrant Spanish flags everywhere are a treat for the eye. The outdoor scenes are incredibly detailed and every drop of sweat shines with immense detail. Indoor scenes are also very crisp and do not suffer from excessive grain like many movies do with dark scenes.
The extras on this disk however are very disapointing, There are a couple of interviews and a lot of the director praising the actors and discussing the consept behind Vantage point.
This movie is worth a buy, at 2 for £25 it is decent value. I got it for £9.99 on playtrade which I am very happy with.

I was pleasantly surprised with this film. At first I thought it was going to be a bit gimmicky, relying on the point of view aspect, but it turned out to be a great film. The twists in the plot and the way that they're revealed throughout the fim kept the atmosphere tense until the final chase sequence. The only real downside is the replay factor. Now that I know know the plot, I don't know if I would watch it again!!

This is a great film. Each point of view introduces a new part of the story, gradually revealing to the viewer what is happening and how all of the characters are involved in the overall plot. There are plenty of twists and turns throughout, from the explosive beginning, building up to the non-stop action-packed finale.
The performances from the cast are excellent, especially from Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox.
I found the whole film enthralling from start to finish and cannot understand the comments of those who seem to be put off by how the story is told and did not even appear to give the film a chance. This is a thoroughly enjoyable film and I will definitely be watching it again, even though I know the outcome.

first of all the acting from quaid and whittaker was excellent, however the others were poor, siqourney weaver might has well have not been in it, ( about 20 mins screen time).
the plot was good but became to predicatable at times and surprised you on others.
The end of the movie made me feel like the story had not been told fully, such as why they wanted the president, who was the real person behind it and their motives etc.
I enjoyed the movie, but this to me, is a film you could only ever watch once.
I would strongly suggest a rental.

Could have been so much more. Great idea but it lacked punch. You've got good actors unfortunately backed up by bad writers.
Rent this one if you really must see it.

Vantage point is a good movie, but like others I got a bit fed up with the rewinds, it's been over used a lot in this move, I lost count on how many times I saw the President get shot :S There are twists and surprises in Vantage point some are predictable and some are not.
On the plus side the acting is brilliant and on blu-ray the sound and picture are amazing, all in all this movie is well worth a watch but it's not the best movie you see this year, 3/5.
