One of the best albums ever

Well, when this album came out me and my ex got it as a present for her dad. I had a quick listen to it, and thought it sounded pretty good. For some reason or another i never bought it, and a couple of months ago the first couple of songs started playing in my head for no reason, so knowing at least the first 2 songs sounded good i got the album. This album is simple brilliant and fantastic all the way through out. I regret not getting it when it came out. I had never heard of Magnum at all, and knew 0 of their songs, but this is album is simply brilliant. The songs are all delivered perfectly, it's tough to pick a favourite. Alas, once i played it a bit at home, my mum came in and asked what it was because it sounded good, so now she has it too! Im a fan of mid 80s rockers/groups and Magnum fall into that category largely. I can safely say it measures up in quality to some of my favourite Bruce Springsteen and Bryan Adam's albums without fail. I would say i fully recommend buying this album, but that wouldn't be enough. You need this album, you really do! Your life will be better for owning it and blasting along to all the songs!

This work emphasises yet again how good this Band really were and remain. It's an album that just works so well, the music just flaws effortlessly with catley's vocals more mellowed and clarkin's guitar work flawless. This is up there with story tellers Night Album and Vigilante. I am not one of those who rates every album of a band that I followed as 5 star and magnum to me lost their way after wings of heaven for many years but to produce and album of this quality is to me what the music Industry should be re-focusing on. Many Many bands of the mid 70-80's are true musicians (play, produce and even write!! their music), know their audience, market and the attention to detail is second to none. Without the commercial pressures of yester year these guys are in control of their music and direction and are doing this for more than just the money which more than across when you listen to their music and see them live.
My only minor criticism and it is a small one in the context of the quality of the album and is really a clarification :The Album Title and cover in Goblets, goblins and dungeons/dragons stuff is just so cliched which what put me off buying this to start with. Winge over!. Any Magnum fan will find this an absolute barnstormer and if you like good rock music with good melodies, well written this is for you.
