Fantastic album, couple of less exciting tracks, but the production and musicianship is incredible. And the songs! Hellishly catchy and very heavy. Just when some of the songs are sounding like ground that has been well-trodden before, something awesome happens... an insanely heavy guitar break here, a shimmering vocal harmony there. Opening track 'Late For The Kill, Early For The Slaughter' is a suitably devastating intro, and I love 'Epitome' as it sounds like a harder take on Alice in Chains! This is gonna get played a lot...

A stunning return to form.

After the previous, slightly lackluster album that Soilwork released, this disc proved a breath of fresh air in so many ways.
The return of Peter Wichers has put a lot of progressive bite back into the guitar lines, with some utterly phenomenal leads and solos. The riffs as well - they'll melt your face.
In fact the level of instrumental proficiency has really been emphasized here - Dirk Verbeuren should rightly receive acclaim as one of this generation's best metal drummers for his performance - and Speed's vocals have expanded in range greatly. The production is a lot clearer than their last two albums as well, which adds a level of clarity to the music which had been missing for a while.
All in all, this is possibly the best Soilwork disc since Natural Born Chaos. Standout tracks include 'Late For The Kill, Early For The Slaughter', 'Deliverance Is Mine' and 'King Of The Threshold'.

Soilwork have really tried with this album and it shows, the intrumentals are alot better now that the original guitarist has returned to the band. My only problem with this album is that it doesnt really draw you in as much as previous albums (e.g Stabbing the Drama) the songs are good, very good infact, with a good mix of heavy and melodic, but thats all they are, in my personal opinion none of the songs on this album were amazing and ironically my favourite song was "Distance (Drop's Electrip Enhancement)" which is a version of a song from a previous album that i heard from a friend. This album is still a "must have" for any Soilwork fan, but in my opinion it just wasnt as good as Stabbing the Drama.
