Timeless classic, a sound of its own
Posted by Play.com Reviewer, 15/03/2011 14:54:13
One of the best metal albums I've ever heard and definitely in my top ten albums ever. By far Rammstein's best, combines metal with industrial and orchestral string sections to create haunting melodies and crunching doomy, gothic industrial anthems that Nine Inch Nails and Ministry would be proud of.
A very original sound that you become to instantly recognise as Rammstein, if you're new to Rammstein you will soon become a fan after hearing this, this is a great place to start; a very consistent album with a good selection of not only hit singles but fan/live-favourite album tracks.
The string sections are moving to the point where your hairs stand on end and Till Lindemann's vocal range and his brilliant pronunciation of German are ever inspiring and the down-tuned industrial metal rhythm constantly have you bobbing your head and tapping your feet.
Superb from start to finish, Mein Herz Brennt and Mutter are some of the finest songs created. Essential listening.

Best Album So Far..
Posted by Play.com Reviewer, 17/07/2009 01:00:58
This was the first ever Rammstein Album i heard all the way through, the song that got me into the Band was "Du Hast". Since listening to this album and then the others i would have to say that for me this is the best so far. I am eagerly awaiting information on the new album and when the release date will be. Maybe the new album will be better than this one.....who knows.

The Best Hard Rock Matalic Masters Ever

My first Rammstein album purchased.Mainly for Ich Will but the rest of the album is also excellent. Volkerball video DVD has this album plus loads more - highly recomended. My other best Rammstein album is Rosenrot, including a track duet with Sharleen Spiteri no less ! Awesome!

Mutter evokes fond and happy memories for me
Posted by Play.com Reviewer, 01/05/2008 00:15:13
Mutter was my first exposure to Rammstein at the tender age of seventeen and what an impression it made. When I say first exposure I mean it was the first album I bought having seen the video to "Sonne" and their performance on the 1998 Family Values thingy.
Rammstein became my favorite band after that and Mutter was my favorite CD. I bought all their other albums and the live DVD and saw them live during their Mutter tour in 2002 which was one of the most triumphant moments of my life and as such remains my best concert experience. I saw them again in 2005. Let's just say that for several years I ate, slept, and dreamt Rammstein. I lived and breathed Rammstein.
Anyway, I digress. The first four tracks are probably my favourite, particularly Links 2, 3, 4 and Ich Will. Very powerful tracks. I'm also partial to Rein Raus and Adios. When it was released it was probably their best produced album. In my mind's eye the songs evoke splashes of colour, particularly red, blue and green over a black backdrop.
Rammstein's first three albums are my favourites, and this is possibly the best of those three. I'm not slighting their other two albums released after Mutter, however, it's just to me Mutter is Rammstein at their peak and their Mutter tour was their best IMHO. So I'll say this is probably a good place to start if you're new to Rammstein.

knowing how i love my heavy rock,a friend lent me this about 4 years ago.i was a bit dubious about listening to an album sung in german.boy was i mistaken ! this album is an absolute monster from first to last.every track crashes out of the stereo with awesome force and because its sung in german, the harsh, gutteral vocals make it even better.it really is a masterpiece and i listen to it at least 3-4 times a week.if you like powerful, heavy, storming rock music then buy this you will not be disappointed.RAUS !

Rammstein's best yet!

Fantastic album every track is great and most people will have heard tracks such as Fever Frei! Sonne and Mutter. If you've heard some Rammstein and want an album this is by far the best to get you started! I might not understand what they say but still the music makes up for it by far.
