From Roland Emmerich, director of Independance Day and The Day After Tomorrow comes 10,000 BC, a sweeping odyssey into a mythical age of prophesies and gods, when spirits rule the land and mighty mammoths shake the earth.
In a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter D'Leh (Steven Strait) has found his heart's passion - the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle). But when a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D'Leh leads a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. As they venture into unknown lands for the first time, the group discovers there are civilizations beyond their own and that mankind's reach is far greater than they ever knew. At each encounter the group is joined by other tribes who have been attacked by the slave raiders, turning D'Leh's once-small band into an army.

Just watched this for the second time and was blown away. I can only think the bad reviews this got, was by Barry Norman types over thinking movies.
First off, this film is a visual treat for the eyes. Not only terrific locations and great camera work, but none of the stupid pointless wavy camera style so prevalent in a lot of films. The CGI was excellent and completely believable. Great storyline, good characters, good music. So good just bought it in Blu-ray and can't wait to watch it again.

It was really disapointment. The story was worst ever!!!! It was mix of history and fantasy....... Sort of. I can't recomend it to anyone.

I watched this, but was quite dissapointed. There are only a couple of bits worthy of blu ray. My advice is go get Apocalypto (Mel Gibson) instead.

The trailers gripped me too and persuaded me to buy this. At first it has your attention but I found i gradually lost interest, not the best film out there - graphics however were amazing :)

I don't get the steel case release!!! What's it for? There's nothing inside as an extra; not a booklet, nor some kind of extra disc. The case contains one single DVD and nothing more.
The movie itself is nothing special. A very bad purchase!

Not the worst, but close!

I had the misfortune of buying this on blu-ray and boy do i regret it, i'd seen trailers and read reviews about it saying that it wasn't very good but i thought i'd give it a go what with the special effects, action and stunning scenery especially on blu-ray, it would be good to turn off your brain for a few hours.
Just watch the trailer if you are even tempted to buy this film it will save you the torment of having to sit through possibly some of the worst acting i have ever seen, the plot is virtually none existent, there is hardly any action to speak of and the artwork on the cover of the box is misleading.
Simply put this film makes the likes of The Scorpion King look like a modern classic, AVOID at all costs.

i first saw this film at the cinema and deemed it good enough to buy on blur-ray, it looks amazing in high-def, although the story is truly unbelievable i found it somewhat entertaining and a good family film

I, like many read the reviews, a mixed bag so i didn't go into the film expecting alot, and just as well!!!!!! I stuck it out but only cause I paid money for it, something I now regret very much.
A terrible plot, terrible acting, terribly long (5mins would have been enough), a terrible movie.

Lame waste of time

Some good CGI, but the story lacks any real depth. Predictable and dragged on somewhat, leading to a quick and predictable climax. Not worth the outlay, rent it and make your own mind up
