I am one of those that weren't a fan of Slipknot, though this album is fabulous, I was drawn into buying it based on Dead Memories and Sulfur that I heard on a rock radio but the whole album is exceptional.
I would go further even to say this is one of the best metal albums I've listened in the last few years.
Dead Memories, Psychosocial, Sulfur and even Snuff are fantastic tracks. If you like metal you can't go without buying this album.
The down side might be the slightly more commercial nature of this album might make some Slipknot purists say that the album is weaker than previous works, don't be fooled, there's plenty of aggression, strong lyrics and raw vocals to keep you entertained even if you preffer the earlier Slipknot. For me in all fairness, this is much better than anything they did before and I will surelly buy other works that come on the same line as this one.

Slipknot a american nu-meatl rock band from iowa they have been going for 10 years and are 1 of the best metal bands ever if not the best. Ask any rocker and they know slipknot, like metallica.
This album has been there most successful yet and have just finished doing there world tour which ran from 2008/9 this july selling out stadiums and kicking ass like useally they do.
If your just finding sense and finding your genre which is rock than this is a band to like trust me, my chemical romance used too be my favorite now of corse slipknot join use in the hive of maggots(slipknot fans) and worship slipkont snd buy, worship and love the album.
Which has such hits as sulfer, dead memories, all hope is gone and psychosocial.

Never liked Slipknot, but a friend recommended this and I really liked it. I can see why some fans aren't as keen on this one though, as it's [IMHO] more accessible than previous Slipknot albums. It reminds me more of the Stonesour albums, especially the second one.
At the reduced price I'd recommend that you give this a go - you might be pleasantly surprised.........

After listing to this album i was shocked about what has happened to them. They have attempted to make their music "heavier" but insted destroyed what slipknot was. Their latest single psychosocial is the only song worth listening to but songs such as all hope is gone is just plain noise. Im into bands such as bring me the horizon so im not the sort of person to find metal as noise but in this case, its the only way i can class it. If you believe that you must have this album, i recommend you download it rather than paying money on what could be used on somethign mroe worthwhile

As a music fan i hate when slipknot fans say they " suck " now because they dont swear as much and they have introduced some melody and solos. That is just childish and stupid. Volume 3 is an amazing album BEACUSE of the no swearing, the melody and the solos. And also the songs. This album is also brilliant. gematria is as heavy as Iowa without any of the juvenile lyrics and br00talz noise. Sulfur is catchy as hell and Vendetat kicks all kinds of arse. good Job. Plus the production is fantastic. never thought I'd say it - but thank god they ditched Rick "Ruin". Death magnetic by Metallica has horrible production.

After hearing the appalling new single I was wondering whether to even bother getting this, but in the end I decided I couldn't have an incomplete collection of Slipknot CDs so I bought it in the hope that it might be ok. It's not. The only song I can really listen to is Gematria, other than that they've just lost what made them a great band. It continues what started with Vol 3, the demise of the nine.
Still going to see them soon though, they'd better play more of the old decent stuff and less of this rubbish.
