As Xmas 3007 approaches, the Futurama crew must fight to save Earth in an epic battle against nudist alien Internet scammers. When the evil naked aliens launch a cyber-attack on Planet Express, they make a shocking discovery: the secret of time travel, mysteriously tattooed on Fry's buttocks. Using their devious nudist software to control Bender, they repeatedly send the beer-fueled robot back in time to loot Earth of its greatest treasures. Bender's rampage through history has shocking repercussions when he encounters Al Gore (guest-starring as himself) during the 2000 Presidential recount. Meanwhile, Leela finds true love, a beloved crew member suffers an embarrassing decapitation, and Fry learns deep secrets about his destiny and his buttocks.

As a Futurama fan all the way from S1, I really enjoyed this movie. The ties to the previous episodes and the FOX bashing is great. However, as I live in europe (norway) some genious decided they do not want my money. I want to buy this movie, but I can't. Great work, everyone! Now, I'm going to order this movie anyways, I just need to find out how I can get my DVD/BR player to accept R1.

You people moaning about this film need to stop being such moaners, i think a lot of work went into this film and you should appreciate it.
Futurama wasn't really about the story line tbh, it was each episodes randomness that made it so funny, but everyone has their own opinion so you have to respect it, some people do go over the top though.
Great film, any "true" futurama fans would love it.

..but this is mediocre at best. I constantly looked at the time to see how far we were in the film.. It was slow and boring. Stay away. Hope that the next three films will be better.

You remember how Family Guy seemed not that bad pre-mega cancellation, then Season 4 came along.
Or remember post Season 9 Simpsons?
Welcome to Futurama's downfall.
The jokes are overworked, the plot is thin and crusty, and leaves a worse taste in the mouth than anything Panucci can make, and the actors just don't seem to have their heart inn it. Add to this the aspect of Bender not being in it that much, and Morbo, Lrr, Linda, Horibble Gelatinous Blob, and most disturbingly, Mom and Zapp Branigan ranging from one scene to non-existant here, it's easy to see what they are doing. Check off list of most characters, Seymour appears too often and almost ruins Jurrassic Bark's integrity, and the whole film slows down to make even the random singing segments feel completely off.
It's uninspired, unoriginal and just too many recurring guests, Al Gore wasn't funny here, Sarah Silverman underused, yet Michelle's frozen pod overused, Coolio only appeared for a song, and didn't get much acting here, seemingly unnecessary if i were to be hones,t and this is not Futurama as David X Cohen and Matt Groening should allow it to be. When it was around it was like Arrested Development, layered and hilarious without pandering to the mainstream, but here, it's like The Simpsons Movie, only slightly better, but not by much.
They even ruined the theme song, i mean, there's celebrating and there's smacking up a corpse a bit, and this is the latter.
Let us hope the other 3 films are better, or we may as well let Futurama rest in piece before ruining it too much.

IT'S BACK BABY! And it's frakkin brilliant! Don't get me wrong, if you never liked Futurama before (philistines!) you most certainly will not like this. If, however, you're like me and have been basically killing time waiting for it for the last few years it will not disappoint. Good old Futurama, doing what it does best. Bit of satire, bit of slapstick, loads of brilliant though geeky references and a welcome return of almost all the main and recurring characters from the series. Like all the series before it, this will stand up to obscene amounts of repeat viewing.
The extras are so so, the highlight being a full length episode of "Everybody Loves Hypnotoad", which is surprisingly entertaining! There's commentaries which I haven't listened to yet so can't judge, a live reading of a Futurama comic by the cast, models, sketches and most bizarrely of all, a lecture on mathmatics and it's impact on Futurama!
I'd like to think this release heralds a new dawn for humanity. Providing Fox don't make any rash decisions based on "number of sales in first couple of minutes" or something equally imbecilic we should be getting another few of these releases in the next couple of years. Roll on 2008!
