Absolutely love this man!!! This is his best album he has ever done, brings back some memories. Can't fault him or his music :-) x Note: This Review was made by Play.com customer: laura4eva3 on Rakuten’s Play.com on the date shown.
Patchy debut, some classics, some misfires

This to me sounds like Eminem is still finding his sound, probably one of his most diverse in content and music, he dabbles in various different styles and directions here, sadly I don't think all of them work, but still a definite must-hear. Made famous for the massive hit My Name Is (which is really very throwaway, but got him noticed) and the shocker release Guilty Conscience (featuring Dr Dre), the album's better moments are the some of the more less poppy album tracks; Personal favourites are the heart-on-sleeve If I Had and the very personal and cleverly put together Rock Bottom. Eminem Is Fantastic

This is honestly one of the best albums i've heard in every way lyrically, track wise , and they way the songs are put in the right order its is excellent. Now this is eminems debut album and it is very weird to really how good it is for a debut it is on of the best debuts i've heard. The best things about this album is most of the songs are relating to eminems feelings and thy way he is living thats what makes it intresting to listen to this album and you will most probabley not skip a track that is how much this album is worth listening to you need this album iof you are a fan of eminem its one of his best probabley even the best. First and best (well maybe second best...)

What an album. I can't believe its been out 10 whole years! I recently revisited it, thanks to it being one of only a few I have on tape, and I recently replaced my car with one that (until I fit it) doesn't have a CD player. This is a fantastic rap record. Those of you who weren't around to enjoy it when it was new won't know how it changed people's perception of rap - all us kids growing up on Green Day and Offspring, and shunning anything that wasn't played by real musicians, were turned on to the genre by this album. Sharp, amusing lyrics brought home a new hero for us all, and the music produced by Dr Dre was refreshingly upbeat. Still a fantastic album after a full decade, and not many albums can stand that test of time. Eminem voice is noticeably younger and provides the most heartfelt album of his career (apart from its follow up, The Marshall Mathers LP) in this major label debut. A classic, and well worth a listen for new fans, and worth revisiting for those of us there at the time. I completely agree with the other review, this is a great album with production from Dr. Dre and it also features from Dr. Dre and Royce Da 5'9". Some excellent tracks to choose from too. Very depressing but thats why I like it. So why not give it a try, eh... Note: This Review was made by Play.com customer: MasterTrader on Rakuten’s Play.com on the date shown.
If you're going to get...

...an Eminem album then make it this one. It features some great lyrics and some exellent rapping skill. The production is also very good and it features some great duets with Dre and Royce da 5'9. Some of the skits are also pretty funny and it features Eminem at his violent and crazy best. So I'd say this is better than the Marshall Mathers LP although the Marshall Mathers is good.
