Dos Improntus Dos Improntus is a dialogue between a piano and an accordion, filled with sensitivity and intuitive playing. It is the musical meeting of composer and pianist, Oscar Edelstein, and accordionist, Ral Barboza. In this unique meeting, in February 2006, both musicians poured all their history and experience of their instrument into one focused recording session. The intersection of these two virtuosic players brings something entirely new to each instrument - you begin to hear both the piano and accordion in different ways. Dos Improntus is an album set to be historic by it's placing the best of the popular and the best of the contemporary classical side by side to create an entirely new sound colours and textures. Oscar Edelstein Born in Argentina, in the province of Entre Rios, Oscar Edelstein is considered one of the most important and original composers in Argentina. He is a notable pianist and an award-winning researcher. Recently, Ray Picot of ILAMS described his piano technique as "formidable." He is known for his unique style of playing and the range of timbres he produces in the piano. Ral Barboza Is an outstanding accordion player and his recordings have received several awards; Grand prix du disque de l'AcadTmie Charles Cros, four Clefs EvTnement TTlTrama, one 'Diapason d'Or' and one 'Choc Le Monde de la Musique'. Astor Piazzolla was just one of the many fellow musicians who have acclaimed his playing.
